For our Women in Business event the BCCTC hosted 7 associations and chambers of commerce, representing a global community, at Artworld Fine Art Gallery in Etobicoke for a celebration of Women in Business, from entrepreneurs to CEOs, with 170+ women & men.

The evening featured a colourful, vibrant showcase of the Chambers’ talents alongside wonderful food, wine and music as well as great raffle and door prizes! proceeds of the raffle will be donated to our charity of choice Wounded Warriors. We’d like to thank our sponsors and donators: Yorkshire Pudding, Maille Mustards, Tableau water, Hola Xexican Food, Reiss, Artworld Fine Art Gallery, Dominick Petrungaro, Ollie Noble, Motherly Love Kombucha, Aline Ayoub HR Consulting, and Swiss Master Chocolatier.

We had Fern Horine, Deputy Consul General/Director Trade at the British Consulate General; Laura Fernandez, Jazz.FM91 Host, musician, artist & entrepreneur, and Chelsea Prescod, Director of WEConnect International in Canada. Michelle Jursa, Director of Programs for Canada’s Outstanding CEO of the Year and Canada’s Top 40 Under 40–two of Canada’s preeminent business awards, also addressed the audience inviting them to nominate women to both awards.

Additionally, we launched on February 25th a “Woman of the Day” campaign featuring women that we know through the BCCTC. The campaign profiles a variety of women, from entrepreneurs to those established on the corporate ladder, to demonstrate the huge amount that has been achieved by women in Canada so far. Their interviews also provide an insight into the issues they have faced and their opinions on issues that women still face in business in 21st Century Canada. We created an infographic of the survey:
