The Pacific Alliance

The Fab Four are back in the news. No, not the mop-top boys from Liverpool but Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Chile – four Latin American countries that stretch from the Rio Grande to Cape Horn.
They want to make beautiful music together with the recently launched Pacific Alliance (PA), a new trade grouping that has two main goals. One is set up a free trade agreement linking the four partners to reduce tariffs and simplify trade among themselves. It will also mark the first step to closer integration of their economies along the lines of the European Union.
