St Andrew’s Society ~ Annual Burns Supper
Already we’re getting excited about our annual celebration of Robert Burns on Friday, January 19, 2018 at the University Club of Toronto. The event follows the time-honoured format with the traditional piping-in of and Address to the Haggis, Toasts to the Lassies and Laddies and The Immortal Memory.
This year we are delighted to welcome two very special guests. Hugh Heron – a past master of Burns celebrations – will propose The Immortal Memory and John McDermott – renowned vocalist with a specialty in Scots songs – will provide musical entertainment. This is going to be a lovely evening!
The price is $130 all inclusive for meal, taxes, wines with dinner and entertainment. The ticket price includes a charitable donation to the St. Andrew’s Charitable Foundation—to be designated to support of McDermott House Canada, which provides an innovative, home-like environment within the Palliative Care Unit of Sunnybrook Veterans Centre (K-Wing). Please provide your address so that the donation receipt can be forwarded to you.
The Burns Dinner has been a consistent “sell out” with the result that several Society and University Club members were unable to be accommodated in the past, so don’t delay in making your application for tickets.
